What should I expect?
I strive to provide a comfortable and relaxing environment in my office. It is a place that you should be comfortable in knowing that your confidentiality will be respected.* Our first session will consist of an assessment where I gain a better understanding of you and your needs. This will be followed by a plan of action or treatment plan which describes your goals and how we will spend our time together.
Can I use my insurance benefits?
Yes! I am in network with BCBS NC, Optum (United), Aetna, Medicare,Open Path and some EAP companies (call to inquire). It is important to verify your insurance company before your first appointment. Please call the customer services number on the back of your insurance card. This especially important if you want to use tele health services.
I welcome those who are out of network and I can prove you with a Superbill to submit for reimbursement to your insurance company. I also take self pay clients and accept credit cards, cash and HSA cards.
Payment is expected at the time of your appointment. You are ultimately responsible for your copays and/or deductibles
How long does each therapy session take?
Sessions are usually 45 mins in length. Couples sessions are 60 minutes in length. The number of sessions can vary but average in 4-15. This number is determined by you and I and in certain circumstances by your insurance company.
All communication between you and I will remain confidential as defined by your consent to treat. Circumstances that I am required by law to disclose information are in cases of child abuse or neglect, imminent threat of harm to self or others, elder abuse, or if I am court ordered to do so. Otherwise information about you or your treatment can only be released by written consent.
I am not a crisis service and am not available 24/7. All therapy services are by appointment only. If you are in crisis, please contact 911 or go to your nearest ER.
